Zois Tsikriteas completes AI training

Dr Zois Michail Tsikriteas, our Lead R&D Engineer, recently completed the Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies for Manufacturing and Engineering Skills Bootcamp at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol).

Silent Sensors is based at Future Space on UWE’s engineering campus, which makes collaborations like this possible. Together with Associate Professor Zeyad Al-Shibaany, who led the Bootcamp, we have developed an AI strategy to make full use of the data our sensors generate.

Because this work sits within the “digital technologies” cluster of the UK industrial strategy, we have now applied with UWE for an Innovate UK Accelerated Knowledge Transfer (AKT) grant to develop a specialised AI model. It will turn road-test data from our tyre sensors, together with physics-based generated data, into early warnings of tyre problems (slow leaks, rapid deflation, overheating) to improve road safety. We believe this will add even greater value to the data our sensors already produce.
