Ahmed Hussein joins Silent Sensors as Mechanical Engineering Intern

I try to do my best. I like to have a plan for everything. Structure exists for a reason. When something goes outside the plan I don’t panic. I try to adapt. If something needs to be changed, I go for it. This made me want to become an engineer. It might make me feel a little bit anxious and worried all the time – but that’s classic engineer.

I’ve lived in Egypt my whole life. All my family are in Egypt. I wanted to study in the UK specifically. I am the first to go to another country. Three years ago, at the age of 18, it was a very big thing for me to travel alone.

I didn’t go back. I won two scholarships during my studies to become a mechanical engineer. What you learn at university is a foundation, but it’s not everything.

Being the first in my family to have a degree, to become an engineer …that’s… that’s… I feel so proud. But it’s very difficult to stay away from your family. It was like a dream for me to go outside and study.

Since finishing my degree, I’m beginning to start a career. It’s quite hard right now to find a job. Whenever I go to in-person interviews, it’s good. I don’t mind rejection, but please give me an option or an opportunity.

I am very happy becoming a member of Silent Sensors’ team, focused on advanced engineering in a way that excites me.  This is only a internship, but I feel sure this will give me a great and rewarding platform from which I can begin my future career.
