CPI

The CPI Printable Electronic (PE) facilities at Sedgefield offer world class, open access HVM Catapult capability for the scale up and commercialisation of new, innovative printed electronic products and applications.

The facilities and expertise provide clients with the environment to understand how their products and processes perform under manufacturing conditions and accelerate their commercial realisation. It focuses on the integration and manufacturing of new innovative electronic devices, developing the technologies that will drive the manufacturing process forward.

These new processes, including the printing of electronic functionality open up a host of design opportunities and will lead to the creation of a range of future electronic applications in key market sectors such as print and packaging, healthcare, built environment, automotive and aerospace.

It is also developing the £14m UK centre for Graphene Commercialisation following a recent announcement by the Chancellor, George Osborne.  CPI has worked on several energy harvesting and printing projects including IUK HarFest (Rf energy for IoT), Fabrigen (FP7 organic Photovoltaics), Bamboo (flexible circuits for healthcare).

The PE centre has also extensive experience and facilities in photolith and sputter coat electrode coatings, component integration and batch and roll screen printing. CPI also has access to scale up preparation of nanomaterial formulations also.
